De Blasio: ‘Well, Well, Well, Not So Easy To Find A Mayor That Doesn’t Suck Shit, Huh?’
NEW YORK—Clucking his tongue with mock disappointment, Bill De Blasio announced to New Yorkers that “It’s not so easy to find a mayor that doesn’t suck shit after all, huh?” during a press conference ...

The likelihood that something new happens in the next couple weeks that obliterates this as anything other than an "extremely online" grievance is approaching 100%
If you think the most significant political thing that happened in November is not the off-year elections, you're simply wrong.

"Wait through Thanksgiving for maximum pain!"
8 Senate Dems (probably more) simply weren't willing to subject the country to "maximum pain."

The shutdown sucks and no one likes it. Dems are taking their (incredible, considering the hand they were playing with) winnings off the table.
Rs will continue to govern badly. Ds will continue to call for ACA subsidies. Trump will continue to be a lunatic.
But fed workers and SNAP get paid.

Get rid of all the people who understand how legislation gets made, what the rules are and why the rules exist, and how various seemingly independent elements of government are connected and replace them with low-information/high-passion zealots.
What's the worst that could happen?

I cannot stress enough how the "Tea Party" takeover of the Republican party was just a billionaire coup.
The idea that people would support the same exact thing happening to the Democratic party is mind boggling.

The Senate minority leader acting to shield his caucus? Gasp. That's almost as bad as encouraging the beloved governor of Maine to run in the primary against the guy with a Nazi tattoo.
What dastardly ideas will his scheme up next?

Suing the federal government for bullshit and having the leader of the party force a settlement because he's the President is probably not going to work out great for Republicans in the midterms.

SNAP never ran out of funding. Trump pretended his hands were tied and then ran to the Supreme Court when he got sued by states trying to force him to follow the law.

There was like a 0.01% chance that we got ACA subsidies out of the shutdown. A lot of "unprecedented in modern times" things would have had to happen. (e.g. a bunch of Republican house members switching parties)

The ACA bought us a decade+ to figure out how to transition from private health insurance to a stable, sustainable system.
Republicans spent the entire time trying to go back to before America's private insurance system nearly collapsed.
