If anyone else is getting these modal dialogs pop up each time you open google drive at work and "No Thanks" doesn't work, I found a solution.

Just add the filter "google.com##.uW2Fw-k-Qu-pb" to uBlock Origin.

It's refreshing to avoid some daily AI toil.

This just silences underrepresented voices and assumes the worst of independent authors. Sometimes it helps to read outside the stagnant filter of what makes shareholders the most money with the least amount of risk.
maybe im a hater or a snob but some of you (a lot of you) could stand to read real books and not just itch dot io indie stuff. too often i’ll ask a girl what she’s reading and she’ll be like “oh it’s called phantom wolf blood shifters, it’s this snuffbait yuri thing” and like. read real books, girl

Concerned about the itch.io situation and what it's doing LGBTQ+ content & creators? Tell the Australian government. The lobby group responsible is a registered charity called Collective Shout. Their ABN is 30162159097

You don't need to be Australian to raise a concern.

So this will be a difficult decision for authors. As we have seen, Amazon can't lose, either way.
Whether readers buy more expensive books or stick with authors who eat the loss and keep their books cheap, Amazon's profits will increase.
They are the only winners here.

In June, Amazon is lowering royalties for print books under $9.99 from 60% to 50%. But what does that mean for authors and readers? Let's take look at the numbers. Apologies, this is going to get a bit mathy (check the ALT text if you want even more numbers).

I dabble in 🩸📚, 🪐📚 and a bit of #poetry.

Btw, most of my books are also available on e-lending platforms for libraries, so make both our days, be the first to pester a library into stocking one of my books. ;)
