I would guess that 17 year olds in Uganda and South Africa could probably tell you about as much about the nuances of US demographic categorizations as 17 year olds in the US could tell you about social categories in Uganda or South Africa and it's weird that people apparently think otherwise

As an Ugandan who spent a considerable part of my life in America, i find the fake controversy around @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social ticking demographic boxes that made sense to him so hilariously. I used to cross out “American” in the “African American” box. The options were too limited. By design.

As a Ugandan, I am always caught off guard how Uganda ends up in these wild coincidences
Zohran Mamdani was born the year his mom’s movie Mississippi Masala came out, and it’s one of the most incredibly horniest movies ever made. if he’s elected he will be the first political office holder who was conceived because his mom was too horned up directing Denzel/Sarita sex scenes.
