Bird friends, can you identify this pigeon species? It was hanging out at the train station in Bergen (Norway) together with a lot of 𝐶𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑎 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑎 𝑑𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑎 and was also the same size as them. I think it was a young 𝐶𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑎 𝑝𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑢𝑠, but I'm not completely sure.

This is how I feel about scientific objectivity as well. It should be contested more than it is, but people just assume that science is objective almost by definition without examining biases critically. Being objective is something we should strive for rather than pretend at having achieved.
Objectivity.

It's a contested word in journalism.

There are those who think, correctly, that human's can't be truly objective. We all come with our own biases and perspectives baked in.

And there are those who think (also correctly, imo), that trying for objectivity is essential for what we do.

Are you looking for a tool for merging bed files that will not merge for example strands and/or genes? And that let's you sort, merge and pad in one go? Or maybe you are looking for more custom sorting? Then I hope you will like BedFusion 🙂 github.com/hbesfb/bedfu... #bioinformatics #OpenSource
