Anyway, I remember putting the CD on, locking the studio as I left, and my co-host and I hustling ambling across campus. We eventually returned to the dorms, and I dropped a cassette into my radio and recorded the album as it repeated. I played that tape a lot over the next few years.

In a wiser life, we would have been smart enough to refer to the overnight "DJ" as Otto the Autopilot. We were well-meaning, not good, and such witticism was still years in my future.

Among those things is that the TC probably would have gone out of business faster, and Baxter, TN would still be called Mine Lick. but still, there’s some amazing stuff out there, go visit an archive and find it!
