Great time at #Kopikon II, motivation and inspiration to con some langs has been fully replenished. Was lucky enough to get a copy of @quothalinguist.bsky.social ‘s new book: How to Create a Language The Conlang Guide! Can already tell it’s going to be a vital part the discerning conlanger’s arsenal

Great time at first #DinoConUK really enjoyed the talks (especially @grahancock.bsky.social on camouflage). Mostly restrained myself in the vendor hall, but had to get these excellent specbio zines from @jayeatonart.bsky.social Also had to grow my unread books pile whilst wandering about in Exeter.

This was the setup in said reactor (lots more syncs than I would like but I'm surprised it worked at all tbh):

VERY slow, but I managed to do it with one reactor which was a fun challenge. Enjoying this game a lot considering how cheap it was in summer sale.

Read at 14 to help with feelings of existential dread and made them irrevocably worse. Great book!

Stephen Miller strikes me as a Bib Fortuna type of guy

Getting there in the little corner I’ve been allowed. Lots of inverts in the pond, but sadly no frogs.

Try these clowns together. Most of the time you get countered before you can set up, but when it does work it’s very funny to see them realise they don’t have the right energy to attack you.

Fricative-fricative clusters will be the death of me. You know you're in trouble when you start coming up with sound changes containing +dorsal and +occlusive :/

This is my rancid consonantal proto-phonology. The weird phonemes romanized as f & v are bidental fricatives (here called birostrals as they are articulated with a beak not teeth). You can make them by baring your teeth and trying to make a labiodental fricative without moving your lips or tongue.

Hoping this will provide clues to salvage my conlang’s inverse system. Movima is also a VSO omnipredicative language which is how my protolang works.
Can’t decide if I want the inverse for clauses with 2 3rd person arguments to be based on animacy, discourse prominence/topicality or both somehow.
