The first person we meet on Past Lives is Nanaya'ila'i, an Elamite woman from southwestern Iran who was enslaved around 645 BC by the Assyrians in one of their last campaigns of conquest. What can we know about her life? How did she experience the sharp end of empire? www.patreon.com/posts/nanaya...

Great time at #Kopikon II, motivation and inspiration to con some langs has been fully replenished. Was lucky enough to get a copy of @quothalinguist.bsky.social ‘s new book: How to Create a Language The Conlang Guide! Can already tell it’s going to be a vital part the discerning conlanger’s arsenal

Great time at first #DinoConUK really enjoyed the talks (especially @grahancock.bsky.social on camouflage). Mostly restrained myself in the vendor hall, but had to get these excellent specbio zines from @jayeatonart.bsky.social Also had to grow my unread books pile whilst wandering about in Exeter.

Looking forward to being able to uninstall the EA launcher thingy once I’ve finished the mass effect legendary edition trilogy. Had to disable the in-game overlay to stop ME2 running like shit

Here it is! Please welcome the AMAZING Mirasaura grauvogeli, a NEW MARVELOUS Drepanosaur published in NATURE today!
This astonishing reptile lived during the Middle Triassic in Europe and it possessed an amazing crest made of plume-like structures!

I was commissioned to bring it to life

VERY slow, but I managed to do it with one reactor which was a fun challenge. Enjoying this game a lot considering how cheap it was in summer sale.

We (yours truly, Paschalis Natsidis, Laura Piovani and co-leads Paschalia Kapli and @maxjtelford.bsky.social) set out to try to answer this question.

Why? (1/12)
Is the deuterostome clade an artifact?
There is a long-standing consensus that the animal phyla closest to our own phylum of Chordata are the Echinodermata and Hemichordata. These three phy…

Hey @gliese1337.bsky.social just saw your talk on omnipredicationality and really enjoyed it, lots of good inspiration. Was just wondering on the status of particles.
Do they count as a part of speech? Can they act as predicates? Can you do an omnipredicational language without them?

Wrote up all my sound changes into lexurgy (92 of the bastards never again) and now I want to go back to the start and simplify my vowel system because dealing with mixed ATR words popping up everywhere is annoying. Maybe I'm just procrastinating on the actually difficult part (the wretched grammar)

Try to check my conlang notes and onenote stops syncing, try to learn how to use lexurgy and my laptop bluescreens after working for an hour without saving. Some sort of technological homunculus is conspiring against me :/
