Back at my old stomping ground, Paramount Pictures, for a screening of the 1950 classic film “Sunset Boulevard,” starring William Holden and the incomparable Gloria Swanson. Directed by master director Billy Wilder. The Paramount Theatre is a fantastic place to see a film! Love this lot!

At the DGA theater, waiting for a special screening of Th Wizard of Oz. It’s featuring a special 35mm print struck from an original 1939 nitrate printing negative, so it should just like a screening did in 1939!

This is outrageous. Must-read is right!
Must-read story on how a private equity group cornered the fire truck market, doubling prices, causing massive delays and leaving departments across the county — including Los Angeles — without the resources needed to combat fires.
Did a Private Equity Fire Truck Roll-Up Worsen the L.A. Fires?
During the LA fires, dozens of fire trucks sat in the boneyard, waiting for repairs the city couldn't afford. Why? A private equity roll-up made replacing and repairing those trucks much pricier.

The store is no longer doing repairs, but Furrier is selling “hundreds and hundreds” of machines. In March, typewriters will be going for $25 or $30 each.

“I’d rather do that than see them get thrown away,” he said about the bargain prices. “There’s a lot of nice, working machines in here.”

Went to a guilds screening last night of “A Complete Unknown”. Really liked it. Timothee Chalamet was superb. Direction, cinematography, production design, costumes and especially the acting were all top notch. This is going to be one to beat for awards.
