Mike Johnson: Democrats "have made a decision that they would rather give taxpayer funded benefits to illegal aliens than to keep the doors open for the American people."

to be clear, this has been fact-checked repeatedly, and federal dollars do not fund benefits for the undocumented.
FACT FOCUS: Democrats did not shut down the government to give health care to 'illegal immigrants'
This is false. Democrats say they are pushing for the inclusion of key health care provisions in the next congressional spending package.

Who in healthcare do you not want to be right now? Start with telehealth. But the bite from the shutdown could be really long-lasting and painful for community health centers, small rural hospitals. They're already planning for HR 1, and now losing key funding streams to support current operations
Here’s where the shutdown pain is most acute in healthcare
Medicare-funded remote services are cut off, hospital pay boosts are on hold and community health center funding lapses

It's also telehealth and hospital-at-home.

If Congress can't cut some sort of deal over the next week, thousands of people with telehealth appoints on Oct. 1 or remote hospital services will be out of luck.
