I finished the stocking #knit along. I made a few changes to the Arne and Carlos pattern at the end by making some little yellow and green flowers because I wanted more green in the stocking and overall thought it balanced colors better. #knitting 🧶

My latest stocking progress and I’m only one day behind. Since I really want more green in it as there is only one section so far, I’m waiting to see what the next pattern section looks like as maybe I will #knit it there. 🧶

And so, I decided it was going to be easiest to put in the afterthought heel right then before the tube was too long. Now I’ve decided to get the ends woven in while I’m out of sync anyway on the day each pattern section is released. So presenting, the inside of my project…

Another 30 rows down, so I’m now at 90. More hearts ahead, which I really look forward to knitting. I’m on day 13 and the hosts are up to day 19. I just keep chipping away. With rainy days on the horizon, maybe I will get more of this cozy project completed. 🧶

I finally ironed and framed this piece Clearly excited to hang it on a wall too. I started this Dec 28 last year and finished in September, working on it a little at a time and not dedicated. Definitely got it done in time for Christmas 2015. Pattern from a cross stitch magazine published Dec ‘24

In lieu of cross stitch, I did some knitting on the stocking pattern by Arne and Carlos. This is my third year making stockings and this year, five yarn colors are needed. This KaL started in October and I’m behind because I was waiting on a yarn order (only to abandon it). I’m at 60 rows completed

I had a lot more free time to work on this today. Started adding some backstitching to give me better markers of where I’m at for upper left quadrant. Then I stitched a lot on the blue house.

No stitching yesterday, then today I had a lot of branches and blue snow stitches to remove as I was a line off. Back on track again.

Two weeks of work on this project now. I’m guessing based on my progress that this is going to take another four weeks minimum.

I have three I really enjoyed that include themes of found family. How to Age Disgracefully had me laughing out loud. The other two have friendships across two generations.

Took Halloween off from stitching, then made progress in each of the last two days. With more landmarks, I’m finding it easier to fit the snow sections in.

Have a great time…we recently saw them and it was so much fun!

Cross stitch mistakes picked out and more snow and rooftops added in. Another four hours of work to add to my three yesterday.
October 31, 2025 at 4:02 AM
I’ve now worked on this project for a week. It is a small village, but mostly I’ve worked on snowy sections and trees. The three colors in the trees are harder than I thought they would be, but they are trees, so as long as I can see the branches, I’m not sweating any errors (I don’t see ‘em).

4.5 hours while watching World Series baseball and then a NBA game. 18.5 hours total—and I only messed up in the last five minute of adding the snowy roof. Mostly worked with three shades of gray and two whites, so I should give my eyes a break. Only 1 raccoon to scare away tonight: 3 last nite.

More basketball, so more stitching. This is 2.5 more hours of work, so now my total on the project is 14 hours. Details of additions in the alt-text.

Watched some basketball and worked on this tonight, so 5 more hours for a total of 11.5 in past three days. I finally was able to purchase the last color of floss I needed today, which helps me stay on the correct count. While everything is partial, another tree, rooftop and deer have emerged.

Another 3.5 hours and a better flow, even with switching lots of blues in the snow areas and pinks in the one house. I’m going to try to keep track on this cross stitch to see how many hours I’m off from the estimate by the designer and publisher which is 89 hours.

Started a new #crossstitch project. It’s probably going to take me more than one hundred hours. Here is part of the roof of the central house - and this took 3 hours. Grays & white on white #AIDA are really a night time challenge for me, even with a strong light. This was designed by Durene Jones.

Yes, I know someone dealing with this now. Consider seeing a physical therapist, definitely see your primary doc to document and determine the actual diagnosis for a treatment plan. While s/he waited for appt, followed these gentle exercises to keep range of motion. Good luck!

I tried - settings don’t currently allow me to though. I am following you, but the option to DM is unavailable currently.

I think I can finish this cross stitch project in one more day. Have not decided how to mount it yet, likely a simple frame, but it’s not yet purchased. I think I’ve filled all the color squares and just have the rest of the outline and all of the French knots to go. So close!

I love the look of this single poppy. The kit is from Leisure Arts. I just wish I could cross stitch at night a bit easier; the two yellows appear to similar then, and I can do a little better with the two orange flosses. All the concentration tires me, but it’s a great way to end the evening.

A little more progress.
