Crowds gathered on Woodward Avenvue and also here at the on Book-Cadillac hotel on Washington were hoping to catch a glimpse of the World Champions. Police had a hard time keeping traffic moving on both streets.

General Crowder being carried through the Detroit locker room after beating the Cubs 2-1 in game four of the 1935 World Series. Detroit now had a commanding the games to one lead with a chance to finish the series tomorrow afternoon.

Despite the treatments applied by #Tigers trainers, Hank Greenberg's wrist remains swollen to twice its normal size. The slugging first baseman will not be in the lineup for this afternoon's Game 3 of the World Series.

The talk among the Cubs after their workout at Navin Field is the temporary bleachers in LF field and the left field line that was shortened by 39 feet. The new fence is just 300' 2" from home plate. A 20 feet screen will make it harder to hit the ball into the stands.

In the clubhouse after the game, the team celebrated wildly. They picked up Elden Auker, the birthday boy who delivered the shutout to win the pennant and paraded him around the room. According to the Free Press, the leader of the hilarity was Schoolboy Rowe, but the whole team got into the act.

What the large crowd saw was the Detroit #Tigers sweep a doubleheader from the St Louis Browns and clinch the team's second consecutive pennant and fifth AL crown overall. In game 2, it was Elden Auker who kept the Brownies off the board while the #Tigers captured a 2-0 victory.

An overflow crowd of 31,000 came to Navin Field to see if the #Tigers could claim the American League crown for the second consecutive season. The patrons who could not get right field bleacher seats were allowed to sit in the portion of the temporary bleachers in left field that had been completed.

Ran across this in today's game story in the Free Press. Thought it would be a chance to ask the newest follower @lougehrigreplay.bsky.social whether "Biscuit Pants" was really a Lou Gehrig nickname. I have never heard that nickname before.

The #Tigers were swept in a three game series in Comiskey Park. They now have a record of 2-7, and the defending American League Champions are currently in last place, ½ game behind the Philadelphia Athletics. The #Tigers now had to Cleveland for three games against the Indians at League Park
