In retrospect, I don't think this was terribly useful because it doesn't help you hold on to what normal should be.

Normal should be kind. Normal should involve good works.

It must be defined by positive action, not negative statements.

Last Trump admin, people took research from fascist regimes that suggested that people have a tendency to normalize what is happening, even as matters gets worse and worse around them, and so there was a point where people were saying, "this is not normal!" in response to the administration.
