Avid comic reader, cat owner/butler for my little king Linus, 33 years-old and tired. He/Him, boring white gay
Gonna be honest, I wasn't really impressed by Maines' writing of Jon at all, and very impressed with Dreamer, so I'm basically at a net zero here. Until shown otherwise, this is a book I think could be great or bad, but not a book I want to buy

Anyway, DC call Yang and have him write Kenan again

I'm gay because my spotify wrapped is topped by Charli XCX and I'm a hipster because I've listened to over 9000 hours of podcasts

@markwaid.bsky.social Dude... do you even like Conner? At some point you're writing him as your punching bag...

I need a discord full of only 30 somethings where they share the most mundane things about their lives, like Friday I made a really good lasagna, and today I put up my Christmas tree

Sometimes I think the Simpsons perfected the sight gag

America, I hate when someone from your country lists temperatures, they don't make sense

Fix your shit, starting with imperial measurements

The further I get into my Calvin and Hobbes re-read, the further I want to revisit Peanuts, Bloom County, Krazy Kat and Pogo, so many wonderful books with wonderful art

I don't often talk about Watterson as a comics creator because the ground is reasonably well trodden - the way his characters feel so physical and visceral under his hands, the completeness of his vision and the dynamic art that just pulls you in - but there's so much to be won looking at his art
I (like pretty much all comic nerds) LOVE Watterson, but I am continually mystified by his ink lines. How he got them to look so sloppily loose yet also so specific remains a mystery for the ages.

He truly is such a unique voice and talent who can never truly be replicated.

I love buying and naming the plants, but I constantly forget the names I give them

And remember: you're not on Twitter anymore, there is a trust and safety team here. If someone named "gasthejews" follows you, report them as well as blocking.

Have you ever seen a more satisfied looking cat?

I've been more excited for the new area rug under my bed than I expected

Was generally frustrated with the Waid weekly Action Comics story, now he ended the Kon and Kenan thread and I'm sitting here like, "dude your Action Comics time is really not that good at all"

The ending to their subplot is genuinely bad. Just poor writing on Waid's behalf

Man this page is probably my least favorite from PKJ's Action Comics run. It's like throwing a live bee at a dog and hoping it hits. That's not how Kenan talks, and certainly not a lesson he needed to prop up Clark

I'd been defending the weekly Action Comics, but man I hated the latest issue. None of the characters Waid wrote seemed injected with any humanity or nuance, none of them

Calvin and Hobbes making fun of the 90s speculators market and somehow forecasting into 2024's least ambitious big two books, that's the kind of king shit Watterson did

Nothing irks me more than posting something like "I like cabbage rolls" and having someone write "what's cabbage rolls?"

We all use the same internet, type "google dot com" into your browser and look it up?!

Also interesting fact, Kelly Clarkson has a decor line, and Since U Been Gone is a banger
Nothing will cement your feeling of life passing you by but listening to music from when you were fifteen (read, almost twenty years ago) while excitedly tracking the delivery of an area rug you ordered a few weeks back

A reminder to everyone looking for Golden Age Superman stories from a young, modernized and contemporary Superman, just buy (in bulk) New Super-Man

What do you do when your cat is so cute, but you also contemplate throwing him into the sun when he's noisy?
