Hey, sorry for making you feel like you're being attacked

I'll tone down the language next time
That's not a story, genius. One would think you would know what a story is, given you just had to rt me to be a smug, hostile dickhead.

Why would you need to, lol? You know that even without Superboy, it's just a different answer.
tbh complete bullshit

man and superman is a fine story but not a single origin story has ever made me say "wow! i no longer wonder what superman was doing from age 8-18" except for maybe Superman and Lois

Superboy or not, this is always the answer

Clark spends most of his childhood actively afraid of his powers and/or on a very purposeful journey to accept himself, which limits his powers

Ironic that he accidentally replicated this with his son as well.
So I guess the solution is that it's not actually about the solar energy but it's the mental Blocks Clark put in place to limit his powers so he appears more human

I don't know why I wrote all this but I did
November 22, 2024 at 7:26 AM
I'm cooking a thread on Twitter rn

And yes, I do make this about Superboy, eventually.
November 20, 2024 at 9:35 PM
also completely unrelated to anything, but i had this dream of a fusion of Superman, Spider-Man, and Venom, where the symbiote was the last survivor of the Klyntar race and it landed on Earth, alone

Peter Parker finds it and takes care of it and they eventually bond to become a Superman figure.
November 19, 2024 at 2:22 PM
i gotta fucking lock in and make something or else 2025 about to be the worst year for Superman shit ever if the movie bombs
November 19, 2024 at 2:11 PM
my dream is one day i'll galvanize all these muzzies on CBTWT and the 2030s will be known as the Muslim Invasion of the American Comic Book Industry

we all have our examples of "comics were always political" but this is like the exact flavor of identity politics with the exact responses too

we just force ourselves to engage now

we should bring back a proper Lois book and really test the limits in the middle of Trump's administration
Superman's girlfriend Lois lane is hardly what I'd call radical feminism so reading letters pages of people calling the book woke nonsense is both hilarious and kinda sad

Interesting perspective

i appreciate posting bsky because here i don't have to deal with the worst brand of people

um actually ppl with heads filled with useless thoughts
November 18, 2024 at 2:15 PM
@markwaid.bsky.social look man was this so hard

why tease a moral conundrum if you're going to remove it
The Phantom Zone Projector is the Kryptonian Atom Bomb. A device that taps into a power man should never have had access to. Harnessing an eldritch power for utilitarian purposes, its what happens when you undermine an authority. They'll do anything to show who's in charge.

I swear to God if someone um actuallys me on that Rao pitch one more fucking time without actually reading it I will go on a psychotic break
November 18, 2024 at 7:32 AM
a rough design for Rao

honed in on the flamebird connection of course, and also took inspiration from that immortal Superman in williamson

I remember someone had this idea on twitter but im not sure exactly who it was, to have a superboy series in the style of ben 10. This made me think lex in gwen's spot would be really cool.

Clark's best friend from childhood goes on the roadtrip with him and it eventually leads to their animosity

I see a lot of discussion surrounding whether Kirby wanted Darkseid to be a Superman villain. And while this isn't written by him, Lois Lane 116 pretty directly teases a fight. And this is while Kirby was doing his original new God Saga

FitMarshmellow's Spider-Man pitch. It's a rollercoaster from beginning to end
Favorite fanpitch you’ve seen for a character
November 16, 2024 at 2:28 PM
continuing on this train of thought, i'd like to link him to Nightwing and Flamebird, taking a cue from Batman and Robin.

Batman's name, for the most part, is based around the animal. A bat. On the other hand, it's his sidekick, Robin, that's actually based on a folklore hero: Robin Hood.
November 17, 2024 at 9:32 AM
a crazier idea is also linking it to a Kara villain arc. something like Enerjak in Archie Sonic
