All my Superman reading orders

A thread
A pretty good start if bogged down by flashbacks. I get you want this to be a jumping In point but it's still a lot

I am excited to carry on since everything coming sounds interesting

Cool page. Man of Steel #119. Superman builds both versions of his parents. I think the best Superman stories deal in duality. The low points are the stories that insist one truth.

Last days of Luthor ended up being a B+ story for me. I thought it was odd how issue 1 ended on Clark's guilt only for the rest of the book to focus so much on his ethics code instead

All-star and Black ring are better endings for the rivalry for me

Everything I hear about the last of us show seems to imply they think TV audiences are complete idiots who need everything interesting about the game smoothed out and Spoon fed to them, and I think that's really funny ngl

I like what I'm hearing from Slott, especially the implication he's doing red Kryptonite heart Metallo

Slott and Bendis being the two guys in the modern era actually interested in writing the daily planet in a significant way is really funny to me

Absolute Superman 5s ending was dumb

GL was fun but felt more like a preview if anything

Bro nobody even remembers shadow war, why you calling it a classic

I did like it originally, and I liked leviathan more on re-read recently

Kryptonite city with a Kryptonite king and Kryptonite knights all sound really cool

I just hope they don't handle Kryptonite in the most boring way and treat it more like a Pokémon status effect instead

I do think the most relevant Superman movie you could make rn would use Metallo as the villain

This was good but Waid really can't be subtle at all. There's like 3 times a character just turns to the reader and says what he thinks

Last days of Lex Luthor previews finally dropped, but tbh this is really underwhelming from Lois. People have pointed out how shallow that under the red hood scene is and this is just the same thing

Ngl, watching invincible makes me wish a Superman adaptation actually did focus on Action scenes a little more with his whole rogues gallery for variety

The Dceu and Death of Superman, and apocalypse are the only ones to really focus on Action but the choice of villains in them lack variety

I think the core difference between modern and Classic Luthor, is that the classic Luthor was honest that he was the greatest criminal mind of his time, whereas Modern Lex is self delusional and will go to the grave screaming he could have saved the world if it wasn't for Superman
