This Asus GT-BE19000AI is impressive. Bufferbloat and latency are low and i haven’t even tweaked any settings yet.

Traveling in a different country and these two devices always go with me. They help me avoid geo restricted content and age verification garbage restrictions. Travel router puts all my devices under one private network I control. The Firewalla monitors my traffic and run the multiple vpns i set up.

I can’t speak for Duck Duck Go but Quad9 and Proton work well together in my experience. I ran Wireshark on my network awhile back using Quad9 and my data was definitely encrypted (see photo).

When i am connected to Quad9 here is the server name that shows up.

Yeah bro. You can get a vpn around 60 bucks for a year with Mullvad VPN and send your traffic to Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, or Vancouver and get Canadian Netlix. Turned on Mullvad on my phone for Vancouver and the Canada Netflix library shows up. 🤷‍♂️

Unfortunately it isn’t just this app that possibly uses it. It is not uncommon among many platforms especially nowadays.

I have an external firewall that can vpn specific domains i set rules to through multiple vpns simultaneously. Here are some vpn servers i set up in my firewall and i can direct it to run my gaming devices through a server and/or run social media traffic through another server etc. Extremely useful.

I just clicked on your link using a vpn server in Toronto and was able to get on. Your dns could be the issue.

Also you may want to download Vivaldi web browser. They have anonymous mode that strips your identity when searching the web. I put Reuters entire domain through my vpn based on your link using Quad9 and Vivalld no issues.

When traveling love having my travel router and external firewall with me. Can vpn back home and same networking rules that are set up at home now apply to my travel devices (certain websites going through a vpn, blocking certain countries from contacting my network etc.) and monitor all devices.

You may want to tell Proton they are falsely advertising. 🤷‍♂️

No problem. Once i changed my dns to Q9 i could vpn BBC Iplayer, Disney Plus etc. Not quite sure why Q9 is with my vpn is able to disguise where i am better than just using the vpn by itself. I am in the U.S. but it works like a charm.

BBC Iplayer has been the toughest site i have run into to access with a vpn. They are really good at sniffing out vpn ip addresses. Kudos to them. But you can’t break me bruh. 😂

Here is a screenshot of some of the options i was referring to for Proton. I like to manually download their VPN configuration files and load them into my external firewall to handle von traffic.

Proton still has port forwarding servers.

You may also want to take a look at Vivaldi browser. They recently partnered with Proton. They have a vpn option built into their browser. They have an anonymous view mode and when you click in it when doing a search online with their browser you see this initially…
