I don't know who needs to hear this, but you can *give* a man a fish and *teach* him to fish as well. It's not a zero-sum deal. He's hungry now, so give him the damn fish, and then once his hunger is taken care of, I dunno, maybe show him how you did that?

I've a few published stories to my name and write at a geologic pace. My only advice about finding a writing community, is to treat yourself and others kindly + with transparency. You should be able to ask questions. You should be able to feel safe. I've been very lucky and I want the same for you.
