I admit, I don't know why I found this announcement by a fellow teacher so funny, but its arrival in my inbox caused me to laugh, and still has me giggling when I see it. I guess it does sort of show the exasperation we experience when trying to move yr12 out of their yr11 mindset? Or something?

In little kids picture books. Not real life. I have never seen a diamond shaped kite for sale, bought a delta in Aldi last month though.
Try going to any beach, park or arboretum where there's a kite festival (Festival of the Winds is on in Bondi this month, I think? Nope, apparently September.)

Ah, part of the amusement for me is that it is not the original crown, so it is gold-coloured, not made of pure solid gold. Like the weird wall decorations. The look on Trumps face is pure avarice. He certainly likes gold-coloured stuff, but doesn't see the joke is there.

I tend to see wild snakes more than pet snakes, but I took care of a diamond python for a year when a friend went overseas.
He looked a lot like this python, which was in my back yard a few weeks ago.

A sunbath, in which Persephone appears to have melted into nothing but tail and legs and an enormous pink tongue. I am glad cats self assemble again after they melt into random parts.

Thessa is over the itchyness of shedding into a summer coat at this point, but still needs a lot of licks to keep herself as blindingly white as possible.

Meanwhile Mint Slice is a single hard round biscuit, with a layer of mint creme, and dipped in chocolate. If you like mint oreos, you would like these a lot! Yanks have told me they taste a little bit like "Thin mints" but never fed me any, so I do not know if this is true.

Thessa came in with incredibly dirty paws, jumped to her blanket, sighed, didn't bother to turn around a few times, curled up & went to sleep. Complete mystery as to what happened, but evidently it was a big adventure.
