Amusing conversation with canvassing Conservative councillor last week. Hard working local person, respected in the village, blah blah. I explained that the Party logo brought shame on him, and that the local MP is the worst kind of filth.
And he agreed! He’s asked the MP not to canvas with him.

That depends on the bread. A lot of Italian bread has little or none - the salt tax was only abolished there in 1975. In a basic (non-sourdough) recipe you'll see maybe 10g salt per 10g dried yeast, 500g flour and 350g water. It has a lot of functions in the process.
Why is salt important in yeast bread?
Just why is salt so crucial to baking yeast bread with great taste and texture? And can you reduce or eliminate it entirely from your bread? We've got all the answers.

Just had a nice walk in the gloaming with the dogs and now I’m going to finish my book in the bath with a delicious beer. And my daughter’s friends opined that my (ghastly) moustache is “slaying 🔥” so I think my day is complete.
