On a frigid winter night, I had just been to a late show of Sleep No More, souvenir mask in hand. While briskly walking to the friend’s apt where I was staying, I tripped, flew forward, and fell spectacularly, skinning both of my knees on city sidewalk, a gust of wind carrying the mask away.
