i broke my "never been to the hospital for myself" streak on thursday by way of an upper endoscopy in the ER after getting a large piece of food stuck in my throat
i could still breathe, so honestly as far as "first visit to the ER"s go...

happens in game dev too. assholes can manage to go to new studios without them knowing their reputation. it doesn't necessarily mean their new studio is bad--these people are good at hiding their true form. it does mean, however, that you shouldnt knowingly work there as long as the asshole is there
This, all day long. The myth that being good to work with and getting results are binary opposites in a zero-sum situation is pervasive, and it’s bullshit.
At most, being an a**hole can give stupid people the short-term illusion of winning. But what they lose in the process is huge & forever.

I’ve seen many nasty people, people who were innately bullies and who played politics in the movie and the TV world. I’ve never worked with them knowingly twice. And it’s amazing how often their manoeuvres backfire on them. Don’t work for assholes. Life’s too short.

question for #GameDev fam -- after leaving a studio did you have stress nightmares from it? how long did they last? i know a handful of folks who have but we share a common denominator so i'm trying to spread the question. did it happen right away, or after your stress levels went down?

blood work came back and it looks like he's got pancreatitis! not nothing, but one of the best outcomes of his symptoms and easy enough to solve. thanks for all the good vibes!
everybody please wish the patient luck when his blood test results come back in the next few days, hes pretty sick ☹️
