I thank Disney and Google for waiting just long enough to make sure that I didn’t have to watch my Tigers tonight and not a moment longer.

Congrats to Senate Democrats for effectuating the repeal of Obamacare, literally the only key legislative achievement of liberalism in my lifetime. (And it barely qualifies as liberal!)

Kim Davis is a coward who didn’t have the courage of her convictions to quit a job she could no longer perform. She’s not brave, she’s not a warrior. She’s a bigot and a patsy.

rarely have I more acutely felt the dynamic by which Dems are held responsible for the rhetoric of every random left-leaning person on the internet and Republicans are not even asked to answer for their own personal words

They haven’t captured the killer. Another messaging win would be pointing out how ineffective the police are. There are literally so many ways to shape this narrative without capitulating, Democrats!

That’s the thing. I wholeheartedly agree with the idea that political violence is bad and that this shooting will make it worse.

But it also feels to me that this is yet another area where Republicans get away with shit that no one else ever could.

I don’t feel bad for the guy, but this is bad. /1
I suspect the response here will be asymmetric. Regardless of the shooter's identity, Democrats will make strident appeals for peace and calm, while Republicans will call for retribution and an escalation of violence. This is a very bad combination.

Cool; who is responsible for this being the case? bsky.app/profile/esqu...
I agree with Gabrielle Giffords. Violence like this is never appropriate.

This is the only way to approach this correctly: bsky.app/profile/hear...
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on the shooting of Charlie Kirk:

"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."
