Finally finished.

This is my 5th Stephen King book down. I never thought I’d ever appreciate his books in the way I do the movies adapting his work, but boy do I.

Off to read The Shining next.

Just got out of this. I genuinely think Ruben Fleischer killed it here. This is probably the next best in the series besides that second one. The new cast gels so well with the old crew of Franco, Eisenberg, Fisher and Caplan.

Getting back to reading this now. I did this simultaneously with Salem’s Lot and now that I’ve wrapped that up, I can focus a bit more on it.

It was an incredible year for movie villains and we still got FNAF 2 which is sure to deliver another great performance from Lillard.

Either way, we still probably get William Sadler in the hypothetical Darabont version of Salem’s Lot. That part doesn’t change from him being in the 2024 Lot. Guy was in all 3 of the King adaptations that Darabont did - Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile and The Mist

Finally finished reading Salem’s Lot and it was really, really good and I appreciate the intensity of the scares. Especially the way King writes the Glick abduction, Mark Ryerson in the cemetery and staking a vampire. It’s haunting and detailed.

This was VERY good. Maybe better than the first go ‘round.

I feel like when it comes to doing Stephen King adaptations, JJ Abrams is someone who runs under appreciated in adapting and/or paying homage to King’s world with 11.22.63 and Castle Rock

They were just overall getting random in those final years and it was fun.

Cast my votes for TGAs.

Abstained from voting in some categories because I didn’t play games in some of them or don’t engage with e-sports and whatnot.

Wanting a director you don’t like to be murdered over movies is truly a great example of my other reason for not being down with the DCU. It’s an unambiguously a reward for people who’ve behaved like this since 2013.

Reading these two at the same time has been an experience and the greatest illustration of how versatile King is as a writer

THE RUNNING MAN was incredible. What are people on about with it being meh? It’s not!

Go see it!

Finished. Definitely think it drags in a very big way for most of the story but once it moves, it moves.

Unfortunate that the movie is confirmed to not be following the book ending which is honestly pretty dramatic and epic in a way that you probably don’t expect with a King novel.

The following games are nominees for the Grammy’s.

Ubisoft clenched two nominations.

Honestly hoping Roget II wins this because his work with Outlaws and Helldivers II was so damn good.

Ranking The Predator franchise.

My recency bias may be a factor, but I really just love what Dan Trachtenberg is doing for the IP and how he’s breathed new life into it by expanding on the lore and contextualizing how long the Yautja have interacted with humans and other species.

Mike Johnson is basically Samuel Norton from Shawshank Redemption.

Morally corrupt, self righteous and obsessed with bible thumping

2nd Stephen King book in the bag.

I liked it. Maybe not as much as Misery, but still pretty decent. The epistolary writing is rough and you can tell King was trying to find his footing when it comes to finding the right voice
