Once again a great selection. Not a big band fan but I did enjoy the the first two tracks. Max Roach's Parisian Sketches is new to me and I have queued the album.

The tracks on this CD are likely from the same session, packaged differently and other tracks added.
Concierto De Aranjuez is the standout – 19 minutes of bliss. It rivals Miles Davis’ version on Sketches of Spain IMO.

Your post also got me thinking about the difference between a French horn and a Flugelhorn.

"....The flugelhorn is used for improvisational solos and complements the rhythm section of a jazz band (ie: Art Farmer). The French horn is typically used in classical music... ".
