Once again a great selection. Not a big band fan but I did enjoy the the first two tracks. Max Roach's Parisian Sketches is new to me and I have queued the album.

The tracks on this CD are likely from the same session, packaged differently and other tracks added.
Concierto De Aranjuez is the standout – 19 minutes of bliss. It rivals Miles Davis’ version on Sketches of Spain IMO.

I don’t think I have read an essay, or any other prose, with so many commas. But it flowed stylishly!

Your post also got me thinking about the difference between a French horn and a Flugelhorn.

I was just flicking through down beat poll winners for 1956 and noticed that John Graas (French horn) came second in the Misc Instrument category. #jazzsky
