No one here has said "killing, guns and murder" was okay.
However, helping someone profit off of their franchise they created who actively calls for the killing and murder of transgender people isn't okay and if you disagree, you need to look in the mirror and see that you're part of the problem.

A character being "complex" doesn't mean people are obligated to like them, and it sure as hell doesn't mean that the people who DO dislike them have "bad media literacy", or whatever buzzword people in fandoms nowadays like to throw around

I do like Frieren a lot and like the main cast but I think the demons are not really written the best when you look at the overarching narrative of the world and what we the viewer has been presented so far. (I have also only watched the anime so far so I don't know anything past that)

Like *a* character who wants to kill everyone and always lies has potential because they might have compelling reasons to want that.
But if those reasons are just, “Because they’re a demon,” that’s boring.
Also if they only learned speech to deceive humans, why do they talk to each other?

That touches on the other issue I had with these episodes: the focus on mana suppression. There’s some interesting characterization around Frieren but the show is focusing more on logistics rather than themes.
Like it stopped being a show about friendship and started being a science experiment.
