Death Standing is really an inspiration for me. So much that I bought stationknot.com and stationaut.com for my project.

Who doesn't need a futuristic station as a controlled environment ?

Not sure we see much about it with image compression but I added a CRT effect on the website, designed a new navbar and a new logo. You can compare with the old version of indiedevcasts.com.

I even added a glassmorphism effect on the navbar (yes it's just opacity+blur). More to come!

Maybe I should do more gamejams as a solo dev. It's challenging but definitely you can learn and experiment a lot without much cost. The time contraint is a great tool. For each gamejam you can pick one area to improve. Last time was modeling and animating characters. Next time could be UI.

Ok now we have the shield reflecting boss life, AI chat added for the story, sfx, FX when hit and destruction effects.

Now I need to add a bit of story and a level manager to trigger all the different steps.

Ok let's give some news! 1 day and 22h left for the #piratejam. I didn't get a lot of time lately. Now back to juggling between day job, family time and gamedev.

So cool thing: I finally have a working see-through effect to improve the user experience on the top down-map. I also have the shield.

If you wonder what's dev in a pro ctxt: you want to add a protobuf conversion, now you need to validite the content, you have an internal ID impl, now you need to validate the id input, you need to refactor (DRY), add a validator, build a macro builder to gen IDs, you find bugs, fix them, improve DX

Time to rest, day job in few hours. Why gamedev is so time consuming 😂.

At least it's fun! Tomorrow tomorrow... I'll try to get the basic enemy script attack? Then some UI elements like health.

If you have good recommendations for music with commercial licence, let me know! Solo for this jam 😅

Some progress, I know have my level for the prototype and the basic cam/player movements. But meh, not even a game yet. No sound, no game loop, no enemy. If I can't finish for the gamejam maybe I'll continue it anyway 🛎️.

Level design for the gamejam, I did something simple. I'll also add an elevator, some machines in the left room, trees in front of the building, and then done.

I'll have to manage the mask for building elements in front of the player camera. Next big step will be to have the boss #gamedev #indiedev

It's been a while since I did any gamedev. Making a web version is a bit more challenging, but I have my workflow for optimizing voxel assets.

534 triangles and 367 vertices.

Yes it's a shotgun, with a torch lamp 🔫.

I'm making an environmental monitoring and control system. I've opted for Leptos and Tauri, and I'm currently implementing the same system as the React Grid Layout 🦀.

Well I don't know why I thought that implementing a reactive grid layout with Leptos would be a good idea. It takes me so much time. But it's fun!

- Responsive grid
- Responsive items
- Resizable / draggable items
- AABB collision detection

This will support my monitoring dashboard for ArkSync
