yeah, that's between the Colcord and the Robinson Renaissance. That was an empty alley filled with trash fifteen years ago. Now, one of the two nicest hotels in downtown, and for my money the prettiest, sits next to a memorial of the city's struggle for civil rights. Pretty damn great.

The downtown Oklahoma City Clara Luper Sit-in Plaza turned out amazing. Somebody can correct me, but this used to be a fairly derelict gap between the Colcord Hotel and the Robinson Renaissance?

The cornerstone of this collaboration is the planned restart of the Duane Arnold Energy Center ( Duane Arnold ), Iowa's only nuclear facility, which is located in Palo, near Cedar Rapids. Once operational, Google will purchase power from the 615-MW plant as a 24/7 carbon-free energy source to help power Google's growing cloud and AI infrastructure in Iowa, while also strengthening local grid reliability, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs, and driving significant economic investment to the Midwest region. In addition to Google's 25-year agreement to purchase carbon-free nuclear energy from the Duane Arnold plant, one of the plant's current minority owners, Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO), will purchase the remaining portion of the plant's output on the same terms as Google. NextEra Energy has signed definitive agreements to acquire CIPCO and Corn Belt Power Cooperative's combined 30% interest in the plant, which will bring NextEra Energy's ownership to 100%. Duane Arnold , which was shut down in 2020, is expected to be online and delivering electricity onto the grid by the first quarter of 2029, pending regulatory approvals to restart the plant.

kids these days don't ever wear pants with back pockets! How can you have a wallet without a back pocket??
Related: teaching my kids to own and use a wallet has been a futile effort. The 16-year-old used to carry his driver's permit around loose in his backpack. Drove me fucking insane. So, at my pleading, he got one of those little card holders you stick onto the back of your iPhone case. I reckon that's about as much wallet as he'll ever have, for the rest of his life. We don't talk about the death of wallets enough, if you ask me. They're vital to our shared humanity !!!

He said the test, dubbed the "America First Assessment," would be developed by PragerU. The nonprofit debuted the test with an ad in The New York Times in August. The test included 34 multiple-choice questions written by the nonprofit. There are multiple questions about biology and gender identification, political viewpoints, in addition to others about civics, the Constitution and key U.S. historical figures and dates. The online version of the test was designed so that a person taking it could not advance to the next question until providing what the test-maker believes is the correct answer - essentially making it impossible to fail. To take the test, people were required to provide personal information to PragerU, including their names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers, and agree to the terms of PragerU's privacy policy. Fields, who said he has not taken the test, said Monday he doesn't know how PragerU is using the personal information of those who did take the test. An email sent to an address listed on the PragerU website for media inquiries on Monday wasn't immediately returned.

No contract exists between the Oklahoma State Department of Education and California-based PragerU, which worked with past state schools superintendent Ryan Walters to develop a test for teachers moving to Oklahoma from so-called "woke" states. The test was just one of the many ways Walters partnered with PragerU, a nonprofit that promotes conservative educational materials. Their work to inject far-right politics into Oklahoma's school system drew national attention before Walters resigned in September. His successor says no state contract covered the work, and PragerU did not receive state funding. "I'm not sure exactly what they were doing, but there was no State Department (of Education) money spent with PragerU," new state schools Superintendent Lindel Fields told The Oklahoman on Monday, Oct. 27.
