Too tall to be an astronaut

Opinions do represent that of my employer, obviously.

Suspiciously unavailable during full moons

I was in many forms

There are two types of people:

"I don't want anyone to suffer as much as I did."

And

"I've suffered; why shouldn't they?"

You get to choose which one you are.
Making an xmas list is a lot harder than it used to be, given that in the era of streaming the only media I actually buy and thus can put on a list now is books.

In 2016 my dad, who had never once talked politics to me before that, summed up trump's character thusly, "He cheats at golf."

I don't know how the hell his reputation for cheating at golf made it to the middle of the country, but he must be prolific. There's a lot of degrees of separation there.

This week we hit a TTRPG bucket list item in Pathfinder 2e...

Thinking of moving to a small town and trying to get the people riled up about how the utility company is putting dihydrogen monoxide in the pipes.

I stopped using google search when I looked up the lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner on the 4th of July and the entire first page of results were for a different song. That was just over 2 years ago.

Hades II might be the first game I've played on release day since Halo 2.

Somehow I (a very tall man, a true ogre of a human) made it all the way to today before a stranger asked me to get something off a high shelf for them at the grocery store.

Hate to be a broken record, but the spicy late night comedy shows disappeared in Putin’s Russia as he consolidated power
It's wild to me how not only is Colbert cancelled, the entirety of late night is cancelled! They really don't want to risk letting people say what they're thinking.

How long before opinion sections are gutted?

Thinking of the Shadowrun novel Changeling where large portions of the population are not literate, but rather iconerate--they know icons and some words, but can't fully read.

Just put the REfinishing touches (with a printer friendly version) on TWPF my @onepagerpgjam.bsky.social submission, many thanks to @indeathdelectable.bsky.social and @alephtwo.bsky.social for their help.
Just put the finishing touches on Tag Walls Punch Fascists, a one-page TTRPG (for the itch-dot-io one-page game jam) inspired by JSRF, Hover, and Mirror's Edge where you play as a runner with rocket-powered roller skates and a gift for graffiti.

I once was getting a haircut and the guy in the chair next to me referred to my hometown (which was about half that size) as "the big city."
The idea among rightwingers of cities being dangerous extends to the smallest cities possible. I live in a city of maybe 30,000 people, and I remember a coworkers' husband years ago acting like I must witness Taxi Driver-level degradations everyday.

Do you think they'll stop being afraid of Trump if he dies? Or will all the Dems and Repubes still be afraid of his fucking ghost?

No Republican should be welcome anywhere, ever again. Not in a home or a public space.
We're going to need Nuremberg trials when this is over, yes, and to send a significant number of people currently in the federal government to prison. But we're going to need an unwavering commitment to ostracizing the supporters of it, as well. Never accept them again in polite society.
“In Cell 15, Plaintiff Abrego Garcia and 20 other Salvadorans were forced to kneel from approximately 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with guards striking anyone who fell from exhaustion. During this time, Plaintiff Abrego Garcia was denied bathroom access and soiled himself…”

The Zohran Mamdani thing is the trans people in women's sports thing. A bunch of people who never cared about women's sports/who's the mayor of New York only think they care now because what they deem as the 'wrong' type of person is suddenly visible in that space.

It's boring busybody bigotry.

Republican Nazis want to create a snitch state so badly. Like every fucking month there's a new "report undesirables" line popping up either at a federal agency or in some red (gerrymandered) state.

Had the bear dream again last night.

The one where you're a bear, and you're scratching out the words "It's me, Matt" as well as your ursine claws can manage, and your friends are completely ignoring the message and criticizing your pawwriting.

A college athlete's episode-one-Bill-Seacaster level coach-dad said, "My darling boy's a top five pick." And the entire braindead, hype-prone, analysis-averse sports "journalist" corps just said, "Yes, that is fact, thank you for giving us something to not think about." What a fucking joke.

For real who was clamoring for a re-release of by far the worst elder scrolls main game? How long did they spend on this when they could have been working on VI?

Sometimes I think about how I went to a state university in '06, dropped out after a bit because I didn't know what I wanted to do, went back in '16 to a comparable state university in the same state (arguably a slightly 'better' one), and the price of tuition had doubled, but wages were stagnant.

Musicians naming themselves after famous gangsters/boxers/outlaws/etc and companies naming themselves after famous inventors who have been dead for the better part of a century should both be seen as stolen valor.
