The first time I heard "Bari Weiss", I thought it was either a play-on-gender quip for this guy, or the most Aryan Neo-Nazi name imaginable.

Seriously. A paragraph's a unit of thought. An assemblage of coherent ideas, and continuity of action. We learned how to read them as kids.
Quit this Walter Hill bullshit, turning your script into a haiku or shopping list, people. It's trendy bullshit, Teflon Prose. Your eyes slide off the page.

A man of a certain age who wears a blazer and a pocket square, but then forgets his socks, is only a short step away from the rubber room.
But then, remember his story about how he woke up during the night to find he'd been clawed by a demon? (True story. Look it up.)

I'm giving notes to a writer right now (who I've worked with before on other projects) who has suddenly got it into his head that "writing lots more action" in his Act 2, without structure, was a good idea. Coupled with his new mania of putting in random "White Space" line breaks, it's a tough read.

I honestly thought this was an Onion piece for a moment.

I genuinely couldn't believe how fast they went. I was tempted to wait, thinking they'd be like the phaser and communicator and ending up on discount. But something made me jump on it. I was genuinely shocked when all the units sold out.

I'm already set.

As a kid I saw in a magazine the AMT Enterprise Exploration Set kit. Unavailable in Britain. Years later I bought the Diamond Select toys.
Then the Wand Company brought out a working communicator and phaser. FIVE YEARS I've been waiting for the Tricorder. Now the set I wanted as a kid is complete.

I don't remember what the sound on that was like (although I did have it, about a million years ago.)

Got it. That was a surprisingly fast upgrade.
It's funny that the Medical Scanner was something I wanted and expected to be "baked in" to the Tricorder from the outset. It was disappointing not to get it...but now I've got it, I just went "Oh, that's cute." And then switched it off!

Yeah, the ticking was annoying. I'm just headed to bed...look forward to doing the upgrade tomorrow.

Yeah, I saw it back in the 80s and then had it on VHS, then on disc. But it was kinda magical hearing it played live and echoing through the canyons at the Dome. (Especially with that crazy-ass illuminated cross on the nearby mountain.)

We're all just having fun with puns and plays-on-words.

Saw it at the Hollywood Bowl about 15 years ago. With live accompaniment by an orchestra...and Philip Glass!

Either "Land Of Bad" from last year, or "Munich: Edge Of War" from 2021.
First a superior version of numerous "Oo-rah!" meathead movies. Second was intelligently-written, and evoked the era well.
I liked "The Electric Horseman" as well. Redford, being goofy.

Yeah. Florence is up there in my current Top 5 Gals. I'll watch her in anything.
