Seriously though, I haven't gone "home for the holidays" for 8 years now and it's so peaceful.
We can call and I visit at other times, but why do it on the days when everyone is at their worst due to the stress and chaos of it all? And for food I can't enjoy and beliefs I don't share? I'm good.

I see it all of the time and everywhere. So many people DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON and this is actually usually by design. People are busy trying to survive, people are in info silos, people don't like to do politics, etc etc etc...
