Every minute they have to respond to your disruptions costs them money. Every hour someone has to work on anticipating your protests or responding to your interviews or press releases costs them money.

Every guard they have to hire for their galas and events hurts their bottom line.

You cannot match the size and resources of these organizations that are abandoning trans youth and sacrificing trans lives, but you have one advantage they do not: an ability to maintain a relentless focus upon them.

We need to do this in front of Lurie Children's/Northwestern, Rush, UIC and UChicago. No LGBTQ+ group should partner with any of these hospitals/universities going forward.

As a matter of survival, our response must be to make it as costly as we can, as ugly and as reputationally damaging and as expensive as we are able to - to abandon and sacrifice trans people.

To keep it from being an easy, simple bottom line decision to drive us out of public life.

I want to be clear that I'm not trying to put Jess specifically on blast here - I'm trying to point out that, as a matter of tactics, there is no benefit to, and no reason for, trans people to attempt to understand how hard it would have been for an org to fight for us.
