In the past 2 weeks I’ve been getting acquainted with SICS, a video-data platform, thanks to the scouting course I’m doing.

The idea was to pick a club and scout 3 players on 3 positions.

I picked @Carabobo_FC and scouted these players.

Gonna be talking about them soon.

So much talent displayed from Van Heck 🇳🇱 and Huijsen🇪🇸.

Here is a performance comparison between both in Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup this season.

Also check their predicted potential in a few years compared to other top CBs.

Crafting a report on Jan Paul Van Hecke (CB | 2000)

Calm under pressure, excels in Brighton's build-up play. Thrives in tight spaces, distributing precisely under pressing. Reads the game well, positions himself in a high-line (can be exposed by quick transitions)

I got one free week of @besoccerpro thanks to the scouting course from Objetivo Analista and the amount of information you can obtain from players is crazy.

This a profile report from Raúl Asencio - Real Madrid.

Quick analysis on physical, technical, tactical & mental attributes.

A dynamic winger with excellent vision, high work rate & tactical flexibility.

Surely would add immediate value to any attacking teams.

Been realizing that knowing how to move your data effectively through ML systems and applying MLOps best practices is a must nowadays.

If you work with data it’s a skill that’ll definitely pay off.

Reason why it is one of my main goals for this 2025 💪🏻

Just started using NotebookLM to get through papers and articles faster, at least to go over the skimming part quicker. It’s a game changer!

The UI is pretty comfortable, recommended for note taking and asking questions.

I find really fun and challenging to name players profiles when scouting.

Of course, there are standards, but everyone has a different way to name a profile.

Here’s a thread of my own take on the players profiles I know of 🧵⚽️🔭

🆕ttx | Bournemouth's 5-0 win v Forest should come as little surprise to anyone who's followed the Cherries' progress under Andoni Iraola.

In my latest piece for BBC Sport, I broke down how Iraola has made them so good with his structured chaos.

A thread 🧵 on @Carabobo_FC tactical game model, the Venezuelan last final’s runner-up “chamaleonic” team led by Spanish coach Diego Merino.

(It also happens to be my hometown team 🇻🇪⚽️)

Just finished a report about @Carabobo_FC game model to get to know them better.

I watched the tournament final vs. Deportivo Táchira on December 8th.

Really cool to see what Merino has done with the team!

And glad to analyze my hometown team with a different view🙌🏻

Crazy story: Newcastle rejected signing Zidane from Girondins because the chief scout reported he was only worth for Wolves who where at the bottom of 2nd division.

As a scout and person, I’d feel miserable looking at what he became if I had the chance to sign him…

Non football related but today I cancelled my OpenAI subscription to try @abacusai, so playing around with it I asked FLUX.1 Pro the following:

“Draw a dragon like Drogon from Game of Thrones and make it fierce and spitting fire all over King's Landing”

Pretty cool tbh lol

The good guys from Sport Data Campus shared this book for free, I’m halfway through it and it’s awesome. If you want to practice your Spanish and read about data, give it a try.

Perfect for a Sunday reading.

PS: love the fact that Claude is listed as co-author 💡

I believe it’s all about augmenting human capabilities and I think scouting and recruitment departments are leveraging the use of large language models and other GenAI techniques like RAGs, agents, etc more and more in order to improve performance and revenue.

Exciting times.
It is super insteresing to hear how technology blends with football, especially how GenAI is used for scouting and recruitment in a professional club like @SevillaFC.
