And as a non US citizen - confirmed, I had no idea.

We only got the top selection of your film & TV and this wasn't among it.

The people who say "having VFX artists add sets and extras in post instead of filming them for real is lazy and bad filmmaking" as a negative about CGI will say "matte painting is a lost art that needs to be brought back".
Well which is it? Matte paintings never left, the tools just slowly evolved.
