Yeah Mario needs just enough plot/story to create a sense of stakes and character investment, which then pay off somehow in the climax to make it cooler.

Galaxy 1 for example really gets you invested in Rosalind & the comet observatory, and they’ve stuck with me a lot despite an overall basic plot.

I wonder how or if things will change when the full machine roster is available in-game.

I treat it as something that is semi canon, ie: adds to the game canon unless the games do something to prove it otherwise.

Like if the anime says something like “All Wigletts love Oran berries!” Then as far as I’m concerned that’s true unless a game Pokédex says “They dislike oran berries”

From the layout I'm assuming that it's one of the Drag Races from City Trial, which probably uses assets from the revamped Machine Passage.

Do the machines become unwieldy and borderline impossible to control when you get enough patches like they did in the original? It's the one element I've been nervous that all the polish would buff out.
