Finally! A day off for these three princesses! No Tennis, no racing, no Bowser. Just downtime! Whew!
Daisy, Rosalina, and Peach have the day off. They are in casual street clothes, walking together. Daisy has a knapsack, Rosa has a pink 3DS, and Peach has a Taro bubble tea. Rosa is in the center, while the others lean in and look at her playing the game!

The skull and crossbones design pays homage to a silk panel a cut from a 17th century set of priest’s robes, likely worn during funerary services. I hope the memento mori motif serves as a reminder that we should treasure the time we have, and fill our lives with joy, love, and pleasure.
Image is of a gold and cream silk neckerchief on a red background. The neckerchief is illustrated with a 17th century skull and crossbone motif. This panel belonged to a set of ecclesiastical vestments (priestly garments) used during Christian ceremonies. It is made of red silk velvet, to which has been applied white and yellow satin in the form of a skull and cross bones. The square is edged with a yellow silk band and black and brown silk braid, and backed with coarse undyed linen. During the Counter-Reformation, from the second half of the 16th century, the Catholic Church encouraged the revitalisation of the arts and, in particular, their role in arousing intense emotion. In the language of the Church, the colours and the imagery of this object were appropriate for funeral services. The skull and crossbones dramatically reminded the congregation of the transitory nature of life. They appeared on grave stones, monuments and paintings as well as in textiles. In Spain, the country at the forefront of the Counter-Reformation, each church probably had a set of vestments with this type of decoration. Some were more elaborate than this and often carried additional embroidery, such as the coat of arms of the person who commissioned them. Others were made for ordinary parish churches which relied on donations of vestments from members of their congregation. The context determined who executed the embroidery: skilled craftspeople, skilled nuns, or ordinary needlewomen.
