I want to thank all our neighbors who continue to support our communities. I see you. You’re still helping deliver groceries, you’re offering rides, mutual aid, rent assistance, helping people on your block with daily tasks, and you continue to observe the illegal actions committed by ICE. 1/

We’ve seen lots of reports of legal observers being arrested in North Minneapolis, South Minneapolis, and Eden Prairie. Exercising your first amendment right to observe is not a crime.

This is exactly why congress can’t give another penny to DHS.

This morning at the Minnesota State Capitol.

An ice sculpture that reads "PROSECUTE ICE". I'm told the organization behind the sculpture is Common Defense.

ICE is still in Minnesota. ICE is still breaking down glass windows and doors. ICE is still separating families. ICE is still targeting our neighbors who need to go to work because they cannot afford food, rent, and basic living expenses. 1/

The kids are suffering. There's no way to shield them from what's happening here. Everyone is affected. They hear about families in hiding. They read "ICE kidnapped someone here" and "Fuck ICE" when we're in the car. They see us shopping for others. They hear the whistles. They are afraid.

The City should be taking the lead here:
- Allow multi-day block party permits and waive fees
- Install emergency traffic calming yourselves
- Work with the County to do it on county roads too
- Connect PW staff or nonviolent safety orgs with RR efforts, so we can have trained marshals in busy areas
Keeping streets clear is critical to protect lives and property. Blocked streets & makeshift checkpoints are serious concerns for emergency responders as they can delay response times & restrict access. Neighbors have echoed the City’s public safety concerns about this. Let’s keep our streets open.

I’m extremely disappointed in the decision made by Children’s Minnesota to temporarily pause some gender-affirming care practices starting on February 27, 2026.

Gender-affirming care is evidence-based and life-saving. 1/
