Hi, I'm here at last. Have a picture of a tree. I like trees and you should too. :)

I can hear a rooster and they aren't allowed in this area... But also I heard there was a chicken on its own down the street so those could be the same bird. A very confused bird since it's crowing *now*.

All of a sudden I have a kajillion posts from gaming subs on Reddit. Maybe because I said I was saving up for a Switch2. I don't think I can explain to the algorithm that I play like 2 video games and one will be bundled into it. Hopefully I can mute enough so that they stop.

Some cease fire, eh? An outcome a child could have predicted.

Apparently I've reached a milestone!

The Kestrel has been selected for #birdoftheday by Rob.
Here’s a male who just got himself a ‘takeaway’ lunch.

The jeans I'm wearing have a strange magic power. They fit me the same now as when I was 20 pounds heavier. 🤨

Got to my next weight loss way point so I get treats! I'm now less than 2 pounds from my 30 pound goal, though I'm planning on continuing my diet for a few more pounds after that.

"Having seasonal affective disorder while loving fall weather is so dumb. "Hooray, it's raining! Aaaaaaaand I'm sad for no reason now""

~my son.

I replied, "real".

I helped my son move on Saturday and there were these 3 little girls playing around. They took a shine to me. I got at least 3 hugs from each of them and was told over and over that I'm beautiful. (I'm guessing my purple hair played a role.) I told them they were beautiful too, and sweet and kind.

Apparently there's a chicken running around on my street. I haven't seen it but at least one of my neighbors have.

Taken from Reddit which took it from here.

I tried to alt text this but I couldn't navigate within the description to see how it came out. Coherently, I hope.

Did we find life on Mars??? Well, no, but we did find maybe the best potential evidence yet. Let’s break it down 🧪🔭

Much like a toddler on a hike, the Perseverance rover has been collecting samples of interesting rocks it finds around the Martian desert. (1/n)

“Why wouldn’t you welcome this in your city?”

Hard to say, but I guess because I’m not a piece of shit?
One day after the Supreme Court lifted the ban on racial profiling, federal agents swarmed a car in Van Nuys.

Four masked agents with guns drawn yanked people out, slammed them to the ground, and pointed a weapon at a pregnant woman.

There is no justification for this. None.

But I *did" slow down. First mile was over 18 min/mi! I'll grant you I sped up for the rest of my walk but jeez!

Scribbling out my thoughts on what I hope will be the outline of a story worth telling... With a pen that I have to wipe off constantly. I love the way it feels in my hand but I can't say it's a great pen. I'll keep using them, though.

I've been trying to explain the Project 2025 "worldview" for like 3 years now. And this is pretty much it.
Trump claims crime is down to "virtually nothing" in DC & adds the crimes that are happening are "much lesser things. Things that take place in the home they call crime. You know, they'll do anything they can to find something. If a man has a little fight w/the wife they say 'this is a crime. See?'"

The worst part is that, well not the worst part, but a bad part, is that even if saner minds take over in 4 years...other countries will be hesitant to ever do anything in this country knowing that every election cycle could bring the crazies back into power. This is a generational gaffe.
Invest in the US? Don't dare visit or bring others from your country here

You'll be arrested

America hates you
Following the Hyundai raid, LG Energy Solution suspended most business trips to the US and directed employees to return home immediately. It comes less than two months since South Korea committed $350B in US investments, including a $26B Hyundai steel mill in Louisiana.

Good afternoon (for most of the country)!

I searched my photos for "afternoon" and found that the results were mainly not afternoon. What was interesting was that the results got more relevant the further I scrolled.

I don't want to start a thing so I'll just say that there will never be a good argument for privatizing USPS. That would be like privatizing libraries. The aim of services isn't to be run for profit, they are for serving the greater good, which USPS has been extremely successful at.
