More from Sotomayor's dissent:

"When the Executive publicly announces its intent to
break the law, and then executes on that promise, it is the
Judiciary’s duty to check that lawlessness, not expedite it. ... The majority is either willfully blind to the implications of its ruling or naive."

According to this Supreme Court, President Biden's Department of Education was exceeding its power by trying to forgive peoples' student loans.

President Trump, on the other hand, has the power to just completely dismantle the entire Education Department.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to move forward with the abolition of the Department of Education. It gives no explanation for its order. All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

This is EXACTLY — literally — what I've been saying since the start of this godforsaken evil fascist treasonous administration.

What they're doing is not "making America great"... it's national suicide, right in front of our eyes.
It is superpower suicide to stop the best foreign minds from coming to the United States and using their talents to propel American prosperity and technological advantage.

Yeah, very little evidence available to disprove my theory that it's not a court anymore, it's a theocratic super-legislature. And that we share a system of government with Iran.

The exact converse can be easily documented: the Trump presidency is about nothing other than hate. The more irrational and race-based, the better.

The NYT editors really don't know how to correctly report legal developments. In this case, the action of the administration is obviously illegal and will be reversed by courts. It should therefore report that the administrated has "purported to" take these steps.

Democratic members of Congress should probably be made to understand that unless they throw everything they have at this, they are next.

No one would ever use these bullshit euphemisms in covering Hungary or Venezuela or the early days of Putin's Russia
I found it distressing this afternoon when a CNN reporter said President Trump had spent the last six weeks "dramatically reimagining presidential power."

MSNBC cancelling The ReidOut is a terrible, terrible decision. Joy's show is one of the only things I & many others still watch on that network. Her bold, courageous, unsparing voice for democracy, justice & equality is sorely lacking among her broadcast colleagues...

Holy shit this is disgraceful
NEW: Whitman Walker, a LGBTQ health center in Washington DC, has scrubbed its site of descriptions of gender affirming care services.

This is pure cowardice and stabbing the trans community in the back. While services are not affected, it will limit access to resources if patients can't find them.

if journalism is supposed to be one of the institutions that safeguards a free society then journalists should be opponents of autocratic takeovers, brian.
Consider the possibility that the Trump White House WANTS this fight. Wants journalists to act like opponents instead of observers. If the entire press pool skipped a Trump photo op in solidarity with The AP, wouldn't the White House welcome Breitbart and One America News to take their places?
And, are you or your colleagues boycotting covering the WH as a protest?

Here’s to a healthier, fascist-free discourse going forward! 🤞🏼🫶🏼😘
