I can see why you feel like that about it, but works have a life of their own beyond our wishes or control, and I love to see this one live.

In code I'm happily using it in order to 100x speed up the first 90% of bulk work that would otherwise have taken 10% of the total time. It barely costs me a 1.1x increase in the remaining 90%.
