Just for fun, name two completely unrelated movies that share the same director.

Movie you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Prometheus, Coyote vs. Acme or The Day the Clown Cried

Post a character who looks good wet 💧

This exactly was the bit that was hurting my eyes. The rest looks like AI for sure but could perhaps just be bad artist taste. This completely meaningless stuff for some reason just makes no human sense.

If you see this, post your getaway vehicle

Haha my body was not good at anything while under the influence, including coding. For real, the only thing I recall ever coding like that was the spiral things in Inconexia. Which may be the ugliest thing I've ever done and of course were never debugged nor iterated on.

If you see this, Quote a game with a 10/10 soundtrack.

Post your first and last games released

The first, Stardust, as a teenager back in 1987. The latest, Lingokids, a whole service full of educational and fun children's games. I can't point to one in particular; I almost never get to make one whole game myself :) (leads not in critical path blahblah)

This afternoon I went to fight a massive mothership stationed over Earth in Elite: Dangerous, and also watched Coppola's Megalopolis. I'm not sure which of the two experiences felt more alien. Neither was entirely satisfying but both were worth it.

I was never able to figure out combat against aliens in Elite Dangerous, but now is the time to try for good. This is what I saved all that money for. My ships are going to die a lot today.

"Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains"
It's not what you choose, it's the pain of leaving stuff out that matters :)

Sometimes the "leaving soon" trick works because you know is fantastic and it's going to be an awesome time again. Rewatching tonight:

It's so weird that they have expanded the game like 1000x but still no icon for the taskbar?
July 21, 2024 at 4:22 PM
Ah I squeezed a couple hours to get the basics of a little RTS but no combat and no player input, just AIs (aka random() calls). And bad colors. 250 lines of HTML+JS. I want to continue but I must sleep or else I'll be way too grumpy at work tomorrow.

GDC Vault is kinda weird showing subscriber-only content in the Free section. (all '24 content is behind subscription atm I think)

This is what 40 years of making games might do to a person. #WhataGameDevLooksLike

Don't let anyone tell you you're too young, too old, too tall, too dumb or too something or too little something. Just make games.

The only things I haven't done in this industry are music, get rich and get bored.

It would be Metrotown from near the Sheraton Wall Centre, floor 32, 14 years ago. A wider view and google earth link earth.google.com/web/@49.2782... .

Thank you for all the moments of discovery and awe you have shared. I wish you all the best through this hard time, and hope good memories can help
