Happy Black History Month! Here is my favorite story about a Black American you may not know about: Robert Smalls. He commandeered a confederate ship and sailed himself, his family, and the other enslaved crew and their families to freedom. THROUGH waters controlled by the Confederacy.

There’s a level of intimacy/friendship I think of as “comfortably uncomfortable”, where I might look miserable (and feel it), but all that’s happening is I don’t feel the need to constantly mask with those ppl. It’s a very small group but I appreciate them for letting my freak flag fly ❤️
