Platner's explanation is that he DIDN'T know. And that once he found out, he got rid of it. Is that too unbelievable a coincidence? He claims he has never been questioned by anyone about the tattoo's nazi links, that he passed an exam for tattoos of hate-symbols when he joined the army. All lies?
also fwiw...Platner knew all this stuff was out there, but ran anyway. that's extremely irresponsible if he actually cares about the causes he says he cares about.

Hard agree. Yea, I'm going to pay it. But $12 for a Seattle dog is horrifying.

@drsarahballantyne.bsky.social can you calculate the nutrivore score for Cnidoscolus aconitifolius, aka Chaya or tree spinach? Everything says it's great but I don't see it in the database. Thanks!

Lutnick: "The best way to actually merge the economies of Canada and the United States is for Canada to become our 51st state ... Canada is gonna have to work with us to really integrate their economy, and as the president said, they should consider the amazing advantages of being the 51st state."

Visiting family for the holidays, and I know with certainty that some day I'm going to be very good at falling asleep in a chair in seconds, regardless of my environment. Probably 20+ years away...

But I can't wait.

@kevinmkruse.bsky.social @hcrichardson.bsky.social could either of you (wish I knew more historians to follow) recommend a book that explains how public education went from a prestigious goal for a society at the nation's founding to a subjective obligation surviving on fiscal scraps today?

Two unrelated hills I will die on:

1) Seattle is a pizza town.

2) Personality tests (DiSC, Meyers-Briggs) are at best a distraction, and probably more harmful than beneficial.
