True. Unfortunately. But in the guiding world we do a lot of global citizenship, looking out for others, teamwork, acceptance etc so this capitulation just hits different as they say.

Yeah. Their “heavy hearts” and “saddened” statements mean nothing compared to the actual real lives they are content to fuck with because people are too afraid to make a stand.

…do I want to see youth orgs destroyed by legal challenges & costs? No. I don’t. But if we don’t at least fight back, when what is the point of what we try to do in Guiding as a world movement? It’s the capitulation, the playing it safe that rankles (3)

*raises hand* I really like them. But I’m not about to pay nearly €10 for a bar in the local American candy shop so I only get them when family/friends bring me some from trips to the states.

Just even at my cousins funeral this month, we could all be together. So much dying in the early months & any family grief held individually. The usual gestures under siege from the virus. Not to mention lockdown, you couldn’t even try to outwalk it for a bit of the day

I really like that version. Not least because later summer/autumn 2006 me was going through it Crohns wise & the four weeks this was on gave me something to look forward to & rewatch & what I see now was a hyper fixation to keep me going another while
