Every flag is black in a fire!

"The black flag means negation, anger, outrage, mourning, beauty, hope, the fostering and sheltering of new forms of life and relationship with this earth. We are proud to carry it, sorry we have to, and await the day when such a symbol will no longer be necessary."

Every Flag Is Black in a Fire
Louise Michel, André Breton, Jean Genet, and others reflect on the meaning of the black flag, the anarchist standard of rebellion and negation.

Calling all anarchist/libertarian socialist academics.

There is work being done right now to create the editorial board for a scholarly journal focusing on anarchist/libertarian socialist political science and philosophy. A university associated publisher is already arranged.

Seeing the growth + mutations of mutual aid groups is impressive.

Antifascists parents putting on Really Really Free Markets for school kids, Food Not Bombs working with migrants under attack from ICE, zine tables everywhere, groups supporting homeless people impacted by climate change.

We honor the life of Colin Jerwood, singer of the anarcho-punk band Conflict, who contributed to the resurgence of combative anarchism in the 1980s.

It’s Safer in the Front

Faced with intensifying repression, there is an understandable inclination to seek safety by avoiding confrontation. But this doesn't always work.

But you may not know that last year, anarchists occupied the adjacent forest to block the expansion of the Gigafactory and used direct action to shut down power to it.

Carrying out “the largest deportation operation in American history,” as Trump has explicitly pledged to do, will wreck the US economy.

Mass deportations are a costly luxury indulgence that Trump’s supporters regard as worth the expense because they experience the need for violence so intensely.

How did insurance companies become so hated?

Insurance has its origins in mutual aid programs such as the "Friendly Societies" in which workers pooled their resources to take care of each other. Insurance only became a racket after this model was captured by the state and for-profit corporations.
