#tdih 1920 When told the names absent from voter rolls, Mose Norman said, “We will vote, by God!"

After attempting legal and democratic right to vote, at least 50 African Americans were murdered in Ocoee (Florida) Massacre. 💔 #Terrorism

Real time data coming out of the world’s climate measurement systems should be stopping us in our tracks. The latest estimate shows that, this week, the Earth is 1.9°C warmer than before we began burning fossil fuels.

Any of my other #PhDStudents currently struggling with a literature review? Just me? Oh, okay, cool. 😅

This #PhdJourney is a wild one — I’m currently writing my first annotated bibliography, and what even is going on😅

Good evening. I am finishing my last assignment before graduating with a master’s this Saturday, and I just learned that the phrase is “homed in” not “honed in.” Though Oxford Dictionary lists both as acceptable, I just thought I’d blow your mind since I’ve been wrecked by this finding🤯 #tmyk

Wanna see something cool?

At the Grammy's in 1976, Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme explained what jazz is.

The result? The crowd losing its mind. 🔥

We don’t talk enough about the musical demigod that is #HansZimmer, and we especially don’t discuss the power, release, and emotion in his The Prince of Egypt Suites. It’s actually just wild that a mere human being could channel something like that🙌🏽😭

So very good!
This is from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson aired on May 20th, 1977.

Carl Sagan says something very important, a strong message that didn't lose any validity since then.

I believe in #EmotionalIntelligence so much. I’ve been responsible for hurting those I’ve led because I lacked it. Emotional awareness is not the same thing. Glad that we have #DanielGoleman to carry us into better versions of ourselves.

Lunch at home with friends on a Monday. Soul playlist on the tele. Much talk of family and future. No talk of the inauguration.

I think Dr. King would be proud.

Deactivating those other apps means that I can celebrate Dr. King today and not worry about seeing things I don’t want to see…well, other than these reports I have to look at for work😩

It’s snowing again in Indy. Nothing major, BUT I did just deactivate my Meta apps and X. That’s major. I don’t feel like I’ve been cut off from the world-at-large, but I will have to navigate the lack of connection with friends and family. Overall, though, I feel less distracted already.

Indy is such a great city, but white supremacy is a diabolical weapon used in divine spaces to oppress the masses. It will never go away until we stand against it and demand it.
I woke up to educate myself more on the evils we are facing in this state. A mile and a half from my home, I willingly walked into what I'll charitably call a klan rally where our sitting Lt. Gov Micah Beckwith was clapping and cheering a biggot.
