(Of course that math is imperfect. Not all of your "10 listeners" might show up for every ep that week, and you might get some randoms. But when it comes to charts, the more content you pump out, the better you will do, regardless of your core listenership's size. #protip)

There are all sorts of ways to goose the charts. A classic is dropping multiple eps per week. If you have 10 listeners, releasing three eps in a week will net you 30 listens, versus 10 if you only released one ep. Sounds more impressive but it's still only the same 10 people!

Of course this doesn't matter a jot to us; the numbers never had. So the same numbers coming more slowly isn't any sort of issue. But it does mean we don't chart as high if we do 10% of our usual total per day rather than 90% of that total in the first day or two.

That’s a low bar, but I’ll take it! ;)

Come on, let’s slip Mad Larry in there to blow things up. I’m imagining a Jerry Springer type atmosphere.

Dave's #1 made me instinctively growl. 😤

I'm a bit spoiled having seen most of the folks already on the con circuit. My choices would be extremely niche like a Big Finish Torchwood panel with James Goss, Scott Handcock, Samantha Béart, Alexandria Riley, and Paul Clayton.

When a filmmaker takes a classic (which is obviously a classic for a reason), and doesn't try to update it for the kids, or do something to subvert expectations, or otherwise stamp themselves all over it, great things can happen. Who would have thunk it? Del Toro assembled a great cast, too.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - everyone is metaphysically annihilated. Angel - I'd make the argument the core team is going into an unwinnable battle where they die. Six Feet Under and Babylon 5 show us the future fates of characters, so killing them off in a different sort of way.

I try not to think about the Hobbit movies as they still evoke such a fury in me. The story is incredibly special to me and the thought of it getting 'the Lord of the Rings treatment' filled me with such hope and joy... and they just screwed it, completely and utterly. Really maddening.
