So donating tabletop RPG books to places of incarceration is an incredible idea..... especially juvenile facilities....I shall be doing this as well
Last year, I donated a massive box of RPG books to a local prison.

One of my best friends from high school is a prison librarian & he says RPGs are extremely sought after but very rarely donated, so if you have any unused RPG manuals you don't need consider donating them.

Billy Ray is one of my favs...even when I disagree with him I always at least get his point. That being said he has turned me on to a ton of films over the years. Check out his new podcast...it's quite good.
Cheaper than a cup of coffee and a condom! #filmsky

Cinephilia & Beyond's survival is more precarious than ever due to a lack of funding. With only 27 days left, we are desperately trying to raise funds to keep C&B alive.

Please donate if you can!

Some I haven't seen on here that are going to be added to my watch list for sure. Just sharing this for the fellow film nerds
As a film critic, I honestly don’t think you should give a shit about what film critics think (Like what you like! It’s OK! You don't need anyone else's permission or approval!).

But if anyone was curious, here’s my favourite ten* films of 2024 in no particular order:

I rarely plug my books here, but my 2021 book The Giallo Canvas: Art, Excess and Horror Cinema is honestly probably still my favourite of all the books I've published. There's a chonky excerpt free on Google Books, or you can buy it here! mcfarlandbooks.com/product/the-...

Our weekend sales are… substantially lower than last year, and I know we’re not the only indie bookstore that’s struggling this year.

Find your local indie and buy something small if you can, 2025 is going to be /a year/ for many of us.

If it has Datlow's name on it then you know the curation can't be beat.
Moar hoarror! "The Best of the Best Horror of the Year" (2018), edited by @datlow.bsky.social . Great collection with multiple by contemporary horror heavy-hitters. Too many here to recount but anthologies are a great way to read horror, and her anthologies are the gold standard. #Booksky

Rare Exports is *chef's kiss*

I'd add Krampus, which is fun and to me feels like a meditation on how we lose our joy in celebrating the holidays because of the grief of past losses and how we punish ourselves with our memories of a lost holiday ideal.

Plus, it goes pretty hard for family horror.
My tree is up so I have fully accepted the merry vibes

Here’s some Holiday Horror recs🎄✨

Inside ‘07
Santa Jaws
The Lodge
The Sacrifice Game
Christmas Bloody Christmas
Silent Night ‘12
Silent Night Deadly Night
Black Christmas ‘74
Christmas Evil
A Rare Exports
A Christmas Story
