Look, I’m not completely anti-AI (I think it should be very, very heavily regulated), but people who use it for the most brain-dead questions and think it is like asking God make me lose faith in humanity.

Genuine question: is it not better for them to simply stall/gum up the works from the inside with silly procedural stuff? I don’t know what the replacement process looks like in terms of party loyalists.
Scoop from @samanthamichaels.bsky.social / @motherjones.com: More prosecutors are preparing to bail from US Attys Office in Minnesota, because what lawyer with a conscience wants to carry out the twisted orders of a corrupted Justice Department? Truly a bad situation.
Minnesota US Attorney’s Office is bracing for a new wave of resignations
Prosecutors are alarmed by the administration's response to Renée Good's killing.

One of the saddest things to me about US politics is how beat down both Dem and Rep voters are. Dem voters cave in advance when even modest reforms are offered. Rep voters think the only way to have a better life is to demonize and dispossess others. Dems accept that their politicians think they 1/

You know, when you look at Facebook and X’s influence on American politics, you see the wisdom of the Chinese Firewall.

Personally I too would like to experience the Chinese century of prosperity.
If Trump is on a secret mission to get all political factions in the EU (and the U.K.) to unite in opposition to the US, to stand up for themselves and to think rationally about how to adapt to the “Chinese century” he’s really killing it.

I haven’t heard anyone say this yet, but I wonder if some of the aggression toward Greenland (and Europe as a whole) is supposed to be punishment for the bare minimum consumer protections the EU has enforced over the years.

If you are still defending deportations of anyone who does not have a felony conviction in a court of law (and even then, depending on the felony), you need to get your head out of your ass.

“They should use the proper channels!!” then demand they be funded, you baboon.

This resister in Minneapolis put it well. This is the message we need to be sending.

“Anyone who is silent voting for funding right now - We will die in the streets before we give you votes for midterms if you keep saying nothing besides mean tweets”

I think a lot of us, both individuals and, say, resource-rich countries and territories, should refresh ourselves on the MAD doctrine.

I feel like I need to remind some of you that we didn’t really beat the Nazis last time.

1) the USSR did, and
2) we hardly punished anyone, and even hired some of them (e.g., Operation Paperclip).

As with the South in the Civil War, the Nazis ultimately won the culture war.

The outrage from liberals over the Nobel Peace Prize situation is hilarious. Like I know you all are institutionalists but the NPP has been a joke for awhile. Giving it to Machado at all should have been enough even if you hadn’t noticed
