One of my favorite things on The Kitchen on Food Network is when they torment Geoff Zakarian (actual fancy) by forcing him to make something stupid and fake fancy.

I can’t tell if you’re being facetious but: no, democratic leaders, including then-president Barack Obama, very famously waited until there was already majority public support for marriage equality before they expressed their own support for it. That’s the opposite of leadership.

I am pretty sure that, unless he did a town hall yesterday, this clip is from before the tattoo news and is actually about the Reddit posts.
And the campaign is trying to retroactively pretend that this "growth" narrative is its response to the tattoo, when their actual initial reaction was this:
