Drove to the only place in Nova Scotia where it was raining and biked way too far in deep mud

The replies just prove that people in the past also needed family to kick in $$ to make buying a house possible
Yes, my wife and I were able to buy our house with no family help… At 40yrs old
Generational wealth - no matter how seemingly minuscule, is (and has always been) the key to home ownership

I honestly thought I'd never afford a house. I got tempted by a condo, and let the younger generation learn from me: That first condo purchase at 32 was one of the stupidest things I ever did. I took a bath, moved, and rented until I was 40.
I wonder if it really is harder to buy a house now. When I was in my 20s the mortgage rates were around 10% and was making less than $25k.

Working in film/TV I get asked a lot how much I use ChatGPT and this is a great example of why I don’t.
Not because of this blunder, but because of how much of a waste of time it is to get a third party to clap out three banal sentences that any creative worker should be able to type
